면 빼다

if X, take it out

-(으)면 sets a condition and 빼다 says what gets removed. 빼다 is unusually wide: pull something out, leave an item off an order (치즈 케이크 나오면 빼 줘), subtract or cut (사람을 빼면 뺄수록 생산성이 올라가), deduct or exempt someone from a duty (오래 보유하면 빼준다, 고령이면 빼준다; 군대를... 빼다 is getting out of military service), and colloquially lose weight (많이 접히면 빼야겠다). The condition tells you which sense is meant, so read what is being removed before deciding. Its counterpart is 넣다, to put in.
