면서 만나다

meet people while doing something

"-(으)면서" (while, in the course of) plus 만나다 "meet". It names the setting a relationship came out of: people I meet on my walks, people I've met through working life, friends made while raising children, the sights you meet on the way. Two lines use it differently, about how much effort a relationship costs — do I really have to go through all this to see someone. So the ending here is about the circumstance surrounding the meeting, not simultaneous action.
