is that allowed?

Asks whether something is permitted or possible, and it is how you check with staff or with whoever is in charge: 타는 거 되지 않아? 'can we go on that?', 스몰로 이렇게 하시는 거 돼요? 'can you do it in a small?'. The answer, negative, is 안 돼요. It also asks whether a plan is workable at all: 소 숫자를 줄이는 거 되겠냐, 'is cutting cattle numbers even feasible?'.
