라고 알다

know it by that name?

Introduces a name or a term and checks whether the listener already knows it: 고량주라고 아실까요? "are you familiar with the liquor called gaoliang?", 흑역사라고 아나요? "do you know the word heugyeoksa?". Seven of these eight lines are that check, which is how a presenter brings a term in before explaining it. Answering, you use the same shape — 저도 쪼꼬미라고 알고 있어요, "I know him by that name too".
