라고 되다

it says that on it

라고 되어 있다 reports what is written somewhere, and every line here is someone reading a sign, a label, a price tag or a set of instructions: 300포린트라고 되어 있잖아 "it says 300 forint", 1시간 전까지 오라고 되어 있더라고요 "it said to come an hour beforehand". The 되어 있다 part means the text is simply standing there, already written and unchanging. Its near neighbour 라고 나오다 is for text that comes up on a screen or in a search.
