라는 거 하다

do what you're told

Two different things sound alike. After a verb, -(으)라는 quotes an instruction, so 하라는 거 하고 is 'do what you're told' and 하지 말라는 거 하고 is 'doing the things you were told not to'. After a name, -(이)라는 means 'called', so 절크라는 거 하는 거지 is 'doing the thing called jeolkeu' and '주식은 지금'이라는 거 하는데 introduces a programme by its title.
