려고 그러다

The casual twin of 으려고 하다, with 그러다 standing in for 하다: it says what someone is trying or setting out to do. 또 일론머스크가 뭐하려고 그러죠? 'what's Elon Musk up to now?' In several lines here it carries a note of suspicion about the motive — 몇 번 출구로 가는지 물어봐서 반대로 가려고 그러는 거 아니에요? It also works on things that keep happening: 자려고 그러면 또 안 와 'whenever I try to sleep, it goes away.'
