려고 이러다

-(으)려고 states a purpose and 이러다 is "be acting like this," so together they ask what someone's behaviour is really for — usually suspiciously or defensively: 형! 나 홍보해 주려고 이러는 거 아니죠?, 오빠 살리려고 이러는 거 아니야, 석유 다 넘겨주려고 이러는 거 아니냐 라는. It can also be aimed at circumstances rather than a person: 내년이 얼마나 더 잘 되려고 이러나?, taking a run of good luck as a sign. Most lines here are teasing or accusatory.
