다고

Echoing or insisting on a statement

Ends a line with a quoted statement, and the point is your reaction to it. Most often that is disbelief thrown back at the speaker — 'How's the underground platform so huge?', 'You said you started living on your own when you were 17?'. It also does the opposite and insists on what you already said, as in the line snapping 'Okay!' back at someone. It attaches to descriptions and past forms; for present-tense action verbs the forms are ㄴ다고 and 는다고.
