에게

to / for a person

Marks the person (or animal) on the receiving end of the action — who you give to, teach, call, pass to, or hand something over to: 학생들에게 수학을 가르치다 'teach math to students', 친구에게 전화하다 'call a friend'. In casual speech people usually say 한테 instead; 에게 sounds slightly more written or formal, which is why it shows up in captions and lesson sentences. For places and objects you use 에 instead, never 에게.
