I wonder / shall I (after a consonant)
The same ending as ㄹ까, used when the verb stem ends in a consonant: 있을까, 좋을까, 할 수 있을까. It wonders aloud about something unknown — 할 수 있을까? 'can I really do this?' — or softly proposes an idea. The frequent pattern 지 않을까 is a gentle way to offer an opinion: 더 건강하지 않을까? 'wouldn't it be a bit healthier?', 좋지 않을까 'I'd think this song works well'. Adding 요 makes it polite.
