A polite question about something not yet settled, covering two English moves. Facing the listener it offers or proposes: 제가 빨리 읽을까요? "shall I read it quickly?", 먼저 할 수 있을까요? "could I possibly go first?". Facing the situation it wonders aloud and invites the listener to wonder with you: 다시 만날 수 있을까요? "will we meet again?", 맛있을까요? "would it actually taste good?". Video narration leans on this second use hard, often with 과연 in front of it, to hang a question over the segment. It attaches after a consonant; after a vowel it is ㄹ까요.
