The more..., the more...

Sets up a proportion between two things: the more garlic you put in, the tastier it is; the hotter it gets, the cooler it tastes; the more background info you have, the easier listening becomes; the more I eat it, the less I like it. The commonest shape doubles the verb, giving 'if you eat it, the more you eat it', which several of these lines use for emphasis. It is the form after a consonant; ㄹ수록 is the same after a vowel.
