으면서도

'X and yet also Y at once'

-으면서도 holds two things together that sound like they should not fit: 기름짐이 있으면서도 되게 담백하네 'it's rich and yet clean-tasting.' It is the standard way to describe a mixed feeling or a surprising combination — 진짜 무서우면서도 진짜 멋있는 것 같아요 'genuinely scary and genuinely cool at the same time.' Without the 도 it would simply mean 'while doing'; the 도 is what adds the 'and yet'.
