Also spelled unde

background or reaction, on descriptive words

Same ending as 는데, but attached to descriptive words (good, big, seems like): 이거 좋은데? "oh, this is good", 뭔가 어디서 많이 본 것 같은데? "I feel like I've seen her somewhere". Ending a sentence on it turns a flat description into a live reaction — mild surprise, an opinion floated for the listener to pick up, or a soft objection. It is extremely common after 것 같다, which is how Koreans hedge almost any guess (유턴 안 되는 도로 같은데? "I don't think you can U-turn here"). Add 요 for politeness: 좋은데요.

Register: everyday spoken; reads as a live reaction
