Polite, softened 'I think...'

Softens a statement so it lands as an opinion rather than a verdict, and leaves the other person room to answer. Seven of these eight lines are the very same shape, 것 같은데요, 'I think...'. Its real work is polite disagreement or correction: 'I think the change is a bit different' is how you tell a cashier they short-changed you without saying so outright. The plain version is 은데, and it is the 요 that keeps it courteous.
