거든

Telling you background you didn't have

Ends a line to hand over a piece of background the listener does not know yet, usually so that what you say next will make sense: it's got little holes in it, that honey was rock honey, that's when my mind is sharpest. It often comes out on a rising tone, half-checking that the other person is following. The one to keep it apart from is 잖아, which assumes the listener already knows the fact — 거든 assumes they do not. Every line here is plain speech; add 요 for the polite 거든요.
