고요

Polite 'and...', more to come

Ends a line politely while signalling you are not finished — the spoken equivalent of a comma. Speakers stack points with it: I quit surfing, and...; wasabi on the side, and.... It also turns up as 말고요, 'not that, but...', correcting what was just said. Choosing 고요 over a plain 요 is how you keep the floor, and it is a hallmark of explaining and listing out loud.
