군요

Polite 'ah, I see'

The polite version of 구나: you have just worked something out and you are saying so. 'So that's why you were warming up earlier', 'Oh, you're from Germany', 'So you went to bed late'. Several of these lines end in a question mark, which turns the realisation into a check — that's the case, right? — and is extremely common in interviews. 네요 also reacts to something new, but as an impression; 군요 is the click of understanding.
