Describes something not yet real

Attached to a verb, it describes the noun after it as something not yet real — possible, expected, planned, about to happen. In practice it shows up constantly right before the words for "way/ability", "thing", and "time", building "can do", "seems like it will", "when climbing". This is the shape after a vowel stem; 을 is the same ending after a consonant. Compare 는 (happening now) and ㄴ/은 (already done).
