Also spelled lka

shall we? / I wonder

Fused onto a verb stem ending in a vowel or ㄹ (갈까, 될까, 해볼까), it either floats a suggestion — 수원으로 갈까? 'shall we go to Suwon?' — or muses out loud with no one expected to answer: 무슨 맛일까 'what on earth does this taste like?'. Which one it is comes from tone and context, not the ending. After a consonant the same ending is written 을까, and adding 요 (갈까요) makes it polite.

Register: casual; add 요 for polite
