Even if only slightly

It concedes that what follows is small, late or inadequate and insists it counts anyway: forgetting the cold for just a moment, realising it about yourself late, a brief and shallow understanding of temples and monks. Every line here attaches it to a word for smallness or distance, which is where it lives: briefly, late, slightly, in a photo only, from afar. It sounds modest and a little formal.
