Ends a statement in the bare plain style, with nothing added for a listener. In these clips it shows up in on-screen captions (가야 한다, 익산 "Must get to Iksan"), in blurted reactions to what the speaker is feeling right now (느껴진다 "I can feel it", 지친다 "I'm worn out"), and inside quoted or repeated speech (판다 하더라고 "they said they sell it"). Compare 해요 or 합니다, which are aimed at someone you are being polite to; ㄴ다 is aimed at no one in particular, so it reads as a thought, a headline, or a shout. It attaches to verb stems ending in a vowel; consonant stems take 는다 instead.
