'Apparently they do…'

-ㄴ다네 passes on what someone else said, with a hint of detachment or amusement: 수표는 또 안 된다네? 'and apparently they don't take checks?' The same ending is also the plain old-fashioned statement style of songs and storybooks, which is why several lines here are lyrics (별이 진다네, 내 눈빛에 사라진다네). Either way it sounds a step removed from ordinary speech.
