는다며

'You said you would…?' throwing it back

-는다며 quotes a claim back at the person who made it, usually because their actions do not match: 왜 때려! 참는다며! 'why are you hitting me! You said you'd hold back!' It can also be a neutral check on something you heard — 요한이는 잘 찍는다며 'I hear you're good at taking pictures.' It is the short form of -는다면서, which means the same and sounds slightly fuller.
