Southwestern accent for -는데

-는디 is how -는데 comes out in southwestern (Jeolla) speech, and it does the same job: it sets a scene or adds a 'though' that leaves the sentence open. 민망할까 봐 얘기 안 했는디 'I didn't say anything, in case it got awkward.' In these lines it is used warmly and playfully, often in captions where the accent itself is part of the joke.
