I hereby declare (archaic)

An archaic ending for proclaiming something in the voice of a king, a judge or a victor: I forgive your sins, I have seen it, we have won. No one speaks this way now, so every use is for effect, which is why these lines are captions, mock royal decrees and declarations of victory. It often follows 겠 to announce what you are about to do, as in the line about opening the door.
