Echoing back what you just heard

Ends a line by throwing back what somebody just said, usually because you cannot believe it: 'Is this 40,000 won?', 'The Garden of Gratitude?', 'And this comes with the meal?'. Six of these eight lines end in a question mark, which is its usual shape. Without the question it just relays a claim, as in the line reporting that these are the best meatballs you will ever try. It attaches to nouns and the 'to be' verb; for action verbs the equivalent is ㄴ다고.
