'…in order to' — with going and coming
-(으)러 states the purpose of a trip, and it only works with verbs of movement: 막 쇼핑하러...! 'off to go shopping!', 많은 팬분들 만나러 'to go meet lots of fans.' The purpose comes first and the going or coming follows. This is the point learners get wrong: for purposes that do not involve travel, you need -려고 instead.
