로다

'It is indeed X' — archaic flourish

-로다 declares what something is in a grand, old-fashioned voice: 산은 산이요, 물은 물이로다 'mountains are mountains, and water is water.' Half these lines are one fixed formula, A냐 B냐 그것이 문제로다 — the Korean rendering of 'that is the question' — used as a caption whenever someone faces a silly dilemma. Nobody talks like this in ordinary conversation; it is quotation and comedy.
