서부터

Starting from here, there, far away

Marks the point something starts from, in space or in a sequence: from here on, trust me; visible from far away; I don't know where to start; an exhibition called 'Our Time Starts From Here'. Plain 부터 also means 'from', but it is the usual choice with times and lists; 서부터 is what you hear with places and directions. It is the same as 에서부터 with the 에 dropped, which is what speech does with 여기, 거기 and 어디.
