Servile 'yes sir' politeness

-습니다요 piles the polite 요 on top of the already formal -습니다, and the result sounds like a servant addressing a master: 네, 네... 알겠습니다요... 'yes, yes... as you say.' One line here spells that out by casting the speaker as a 노비, a household servant. Nobody uses it seriously — it is a joke aimed at a senior, offering exaggerated deference.
