예요

Polite 'is', after a vowel

The polite 'to be' after a noun ending in a vowel: it's a Southern pie, that's three, still the undisputed No. 1. Most of these lines are in fact 거예요, the ending built on 것, which depending on the verb in front means 'is going to' — it's going to get crazy, are we driving or taking the subway — or 'the thing is that...'. Its twin is 이에요 after a consonant-final noun, and nothing else separates them.
